Bugs was keen so biked up Mt Pleasant to meet the others at Upper Hornbrook Road. Phatboy arrived on time followed by Dozer then The Cook. Quick chat then over the fence to the start of the uphill single track. Toot Toot and Sandals arrived. She joined the lads and we headed up the hill with Bugs leading followed closely by Dozer, Phatboy, Sandles and The Cook. Nice clip up here turning right on the tight hair pin just before the road. Straight into the track below the road as Bugs was already warmed up and keen to push along. Regroup at the tarsal. Watched a guy with his bike coming along the closed road under the gondolas. He was climbing over the rocks. Crazy!!! Coasted down the road then into the single track that climbs upto the highest point. Good climb up here with a regroup at the top before starting the downhill to Greenwood. Phatboy lead off with Bugs and Dozer hot on his tail. Hard to spot the track in places with the tall tussock blowing in the wind. Regroup before Greenwood. Bugs lead off with Phatboy and Dozer chasing then The Cook and Sandals. Track was in fantastic condition for a very fast run down to Evans Pass. We were all pumped at the bottom. Chatted here with a guy on a 27 ½ inch Scott bike ?????? He seemed very happy. Started the nice easy cruse up the road till Phatboy decided to stand on his peddles and left us behind. Split the group up as Bugs and Dozer decided to chase with Sandals and The Cook not far behind them. Into the single track at the top of Mt Pleasant though the paddocks and back to the cars. Great ride with plenty of hill work and just as much downhill. Bugs rode down the hill getting home just before dark. 28km ride.
