Well Twopot, Silverfox, Geezz (Wayne), Hubby, Nelson set off from Rubberjaws (normal meeting spot close to Rapaki) and headed up the farm track. Its a grunt of a climb but worth it. Balmy evening with just a slight breeze up the back. Stopped for a wee rest at the top of the real sketchy lower bit and looked out over the main highway (Rapaki Track) Bumper to Bumper all the way up. Looked really amazing. The slogged on up the hill. Steve the accountant and a mate were with us at this point. Steves mate had his 2 year old daughter in the seat on the back of his bike. She was not happy. Anyway at the top they left to road ride down. The rest of us headed around and as we crossed over the road above the bowenvale access we met a group of 15+ riders. Geezz had chain problems so let them go first. Caught them at the next waypoint then left them behind. Spun really well from here to top of Vic. Still getting my night vision sorted. Nelson and Hub reversed to go down old school bowenvale. The rest of us headed down through Vic. Rubberjaws leading. At the jumps area decided to go down Dazzas. They have done some work wit na new entrance in and then it sweeps left. All pretty soft and sketchy. Rubberjaws lost it at one point, connected a tree slightly and knee dabbed but no major stuff. Carried on down the new bit of the nationals and then out. All in all a great ride.
At Rubberjaws we discussed what Team item we might produce for the trip. Shorts or beanie? All accomadation is booked and deposits paid.
Next team outing Sunday 4th. A road bash to The Styx Mill Reserve to help the team from Trees for Canterbury plant 2500 native plants.
